He accused the party of ostensibly aiming to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but instead concentrating its electoral efforts against the Congress, the Samajwadi Party, and other opposition factions. Waqar emphasized the need for opposition unity to effectively challenge the BJP, suggesting that Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi are the central forces capable of mounting a substantial national opposition to the ruling party.
