Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has made a public appeal to Gulf nations to reclaim their peace by stopping the facilitation of US and Israeli military operations against Iran. The message came as the conflict entered its second month, with several Gulf nations directly caught in the crossfire. Tehran appears to be pursuing a strategy of diplomatic persuasion alongside its ongoing military responses.

Nations like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman have been pulled into the war through the presence of US military infrastructure on their soil. These bases have been used to launch attacks on Iran, which has responded with retaliatory strikes targeting those same host nations. The cycle has imposed heavy costs on Gulf governments and their populations.

Pezeshkian posted on X affirming Iran’s non-preemptive military doctrine while making a pointed appeal to Gulf leaders to stop enabling enemy operations from their land. He argued that their security and development were directly dependent on this choice. The message balanced warning with a genuine offer of regional solidarity if Gulf nations distanced themselves from the US military campaign.

Pakistan has taken a prominent role in peace efforts, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif facilitating communication between Iran and other regional actors. After meeting Pezeshkian, Sharif reported that Iran’s leadership views trust as the foundation for any future talks. Pakistan’s neutral stance has been appreciated by Tehran, which has publicly praised Islamabad’s mediation.

In Pakistan, foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey are meeting for high-level diplomatic consultations. Their talks with Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Prime Minister Sharif focus on practical steps to reduce tensions. The meeting is seen as a key diplomatic opportunity to forge a regional consensus on ending the conflict.
