Amid rising hostilities, India announced on Saturday that it carried out precision airstrikes on six Pakistani military targets in response to what it termed “escalatory and provocative” actions by Pakistan’s armed forces. The Indian military neutralised air intrusion attempts at over 26 locations along its western border, from Srinagar to Nalia, after Pakistan reportedly moved troops into forward positions and targeted civilian infrastructure.
Briefing the media, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi confirmed that Indian fighter jets struck military installations in Rafiki, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Juniya, focusing on radar sites, command centres, and weapon depots. They asserted that India’s actions were measured, aimed strictly at military assets, and avoided civilian casualties.
Despite Pakistan’s use of drones, missiles, and heavy-caliber shelling — including attacks on healthcare centres and schools in Srinagar and Udhampur — Indian officials reported only limited damage to its own airbases. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri dismissed Pakistan’s claims of destroying Indian installations as “malicious misinformation,” underscoring India’s commitment to non-escalation if reciprocated.
The Indian Army has also responded robustly along the Line of Control and International Border, particularly in Kupwara, Baramulla, and Rajouri, inflicting what it described as “extensive damage” to Pakistani military forces.
